Course Overview

By the end of this 5 week course, you will be skilled at:


  • ·      Using and following blogs

  • ·      Using alternative Presentation Tools:  Animoto, Prezi, Glogster and others
  • ·      
Locatimg Streaming Video Sites

  • ·      Editing a photo

  • ·      Creating a Google account and using Google products
  • ·      Curating web finds using a bookmarking site

  • ·      Finding infographics that are relevant to your teaching field

  • ·      Collaborating in an online discussion via a webtool like VoiceThread
  • ·      Designing flashcards for a class that are posted online

  • ·      Setting up a poll for your class using an online polling system

What is expected of you in the course:
  • Assignments turned in each week to the blog for all to see. 
  • Maintaining a presence in the online course discussion. 
  • Using one of the skills gained in a lesson with their own students and completing a follow-up assessment on how technology changed their teaching. 
  • After the lesson that the teacher does with the new technology, have a follow-up discussion with them on:  What did I do before with technology in the classroom and what do I do now with technology?  This is to assess how the course changed their teaching practices.

  1. Yikes, I am behind the 8-ball! Yet my daughter is impressed with my gumption to try new things...one way to ward off the early Alzhiemers.
    The "reader" thing seems cumbersome, but haven't given up yet.
